the only constant is change… in life as in nature, that is the one thing we can count on.

I, for one, have started to embrace change very early on, in my life.

I moved many times, growing up but I only remember crying about it, the very 1st time we did: I was 5 years old.

After that, I honestly can’t recall. Maybe I just became more curious about the world than I was sad about the people I left behind.

Anyway, as you know, a couple years ago I made the biggest move of all, so far: from Europe to the USA. And, at that time, we settled in Dallas, TX.

The 1st year was all about “firsts”, as we had to start over, practically from scratch:

⇢ opening a bank account in the states is no joke!

⇢ building up our credit score (as the financial/ bank system is entirely different from the EU)

⇢ Getting a new phone number

⇢ Finding an apartment

⇢ Furnishing said apartment and make it a home

⇢ Getting settle, knowing your places… “simple” things like finding a new hair salon

Then, shortly after, we had our family visit, and we went on a road trip: Road 66, no less!

After 5 weeks, we dived back into work, which had pilled up… time flew & before we knew it, a pandemic shut down the world.

Two years in, we’ve been through a lot, us and Dallas:

⇢ we saw more thunderstorms than we can count (which although a beautiful spectacle to us, are a nightmare to Chanel 🐾)

⇢ the pandemic, and all that it brought up in people (the good, the bad, and the ugly)

⇢ turning 40 🙈

⇢ riots at our doorstep… literally

⇢ 2 crazy hot, never-ending, summers (seriously, like triple digits for 4 months kinda of hot!)

⇢ a major snowstorm, like Texas hadn’t seen in… probably, ever!

… I’m sure I’m forgetting something!

It’s been quite the ride! And I’m thankful to Texas for having been our 1st home in the States.

I will forever love the view from our apartment… these big windows, and big high-rises, that make me believe that I can be whomever, and whatever I want to… they make me dream, while getting lost in all the million little lights out there.

I will also miss Texas-style square footage!! AHAHA, this apartment is huge, and so are my walk-in-closets! I might miss that too.

This year showed us our strengths, and our weaknesses. To me, it showed me that, as much as I love skyscrapers, lights, and city buzz… I also need regular doses of sea & sand.

Not sure I ever told you, but I lived in an island, from 10 to 18 years old… the ocean has a way of keeping me whole. Just listening to it… Who knows, maybe because I’m a fire sign ♌️

And the meat here is insanely good… Even I, not being a major meat enthusiast, can attest to that!

I’m sorry we didn’t have a chance to make more friends here, and maybe given the time, (and the absence of a pandemic) we would have… but my gut feeling tells me this is not home. Not really.

So we’re off to the sunny state, hoping that, by the time we get there, the vaccine will be available to us, and we’ll be able to resume life as we once knew it… or as close as possible to it.

I’m going in search of inspiration, motivation, feeling whole again. Cause that is the only way that life makes sense, and that is how I can be at my best to help YOU too.

So, the next time we talk, I’ll probably already be in California. If you see me there, make sure you say hello!

By then, I’ll also be launching a new serviceI think you’ll really love it, and I’m so excited to have the means to make it available to you.

This has been quite a packed start to 2021… and I’m excited about all the tools that I’ve been able to put at your disposal, and with everything I have planed for you, yet to come. But more on that, soon! Make sure to follow along on Instagram so you don’t miss out!

Speaking of missing out, in case you missed it, my interview for The Styling Advisory Podcast came out, and here’s the result:
